On a spur of a moment the girls and I went on an art field trip this afternoon to the Katonah Museum of Art. What a wonderful little local museum! They had a great exhibit from various glass artists, sorry no pictures allowed. Very interesting outdoor sculpture from an Icelandic artist, and best of all (for my girls at least) - a kids art room. They got to make glow-in-the-dark artwork in there, in addition to the sketching they did of the exhibits. Here is a glass vessel and table of glass vessels by the five year old. A pair of glass vessels by the three year old. And glow-in-the-dark art by both, three year old on the left and five year old on the right. I unfortunately did not get to do any sketching of my own, maybe next time.. we are going back on Friday for a kid art session.

What a great experience for the girls -- it makes "boring" museums so much more accessible.
I love seeing the girl's sketches. And what fun, trips to the museum and art classes. Bravo. :)
Morgan's class went to see the glass exhibit. She loved it so much we went back over Christmas break. It really is terrific.
