This was going to be an Easter food post, but something exciting happened and we interrupt regularly scheduled programming... I received the latest Cloth, Paper, Scissors issue today and during a break from the cooking marathon I sat down to peruse it. Well I jumped out of my comfy chair just a few minutes later! a FOUR page spread about Virginia Spiegel's Collage Mania II for Fiberart For a Cause.. I could not believe my eyes! I had completely forgotten about sending a collage to the editors a month ago. It's a wonderful preview with six artists works shown (yes, I am one) and little essays about what inspired each artist. Go get your copy today! Better yet on May 5th and 6th get a collage for yourself by donating to the American Cancer Society.
More than 100 artists worldwide have donated 235 fiber collages to benefit the American Cancer Society. Collage Mania II will be held May 5th and 6th with preview of all collages beginning April 28th. Check out Virginia's website for more details. 100% of the proceeds are donated directly to the ACS through Fiberart For a Cause. Virginia's amazing generosity has resulted in more than $150,000 towards cancer research and education in the past three years.
