More watercolors! I have a little set up on the corner of my work table with my water color set that I've had for probably 35 years (it's from my school days in the USSR) and some brushes and a cup for water. And it's sooo easy to just plop open my journal book and start swirling my brushes around... What you see here is my journal sketch for today in progress, I'll post a picture of it done with the next batch of photos. And here's the last few days... 1-19-09 1-20-09 (I was feeling rather patriotic that morning!) 1-21-09 1-22-09
I am almost done with the costumes for Russian school play, it's this Sunday, and I promise to post all that soon. But that will free me up a bit and I am thinking of switching to collage journaling and replacing my little set up with some papers and a bottle of gel medium..

these are wonderful designs and colors. I love the watercolor set too. I use one with little lozenges of paint too as opposed to tubes of color. Hope the play is fun. You are so sweet to do all the costumes.
I think you are on to something...these designs are wonderful. Hope to see more!
Those are so vibrantly joyous! I love the idea of "having a little set-up" and using those few spare moments to get on with a bit of journal painting...
I love all these bold colors and thick lines. To my eye, it's a bit of a new direction for you -- and I like it. Looking forward to the upcoming collage part, too.
Are we going to get to see the costumes? I hope so.
You inspire me to get some watercolors. I am starting to see the value of painting and drawing journals. What a great creative idea. These are great.
I am really enjoying your journal pages.
I think it's time to get one of my sketchbooks out now that I am winding down after the opening of my solo show Sunday.
And also my watercolors, prismacolor pencils, paint chips, etc.
Thanks for the inspiration.
