journal

This weeks journal quilt is 6{52}path... It's an experiment in bleach discharge that resulted in some lovely grays, that I then spiced up with a white silk embroidery thread and white plastic netting. I'd like to experiment some more with bleach discharge, for that I'll have to go fabric shopping! For some reason I don't have any black cottons in my stash (except for what's left from the piece above), lots of wools and silks though. I know the bleach will just "eat" silk, wonder if will do the same to wool? And apparently Kona cotton is very good for discharge, will have to get some of that too. I shall report back with my experiments...

I like the stitches in this one!

Black fabric gives especially cool-looking results, but I've done some discharge work with other colors and with an orange tone-on-tone and gotten some pretty interesting results.

Lovely! Looks like a cluster of pods.

I like this one a lot. The netting looked like fancy stitching to me at first.
