Here's the first in this summer travel journal experiment - 27{52}... a bit wonky as I forgot to take a ruler with me. It's on my list now. The sticker I picked up during a 4th of July Parade in a small Vermont town says "buy local", something I heartily agree with and try to do as much as possible. Lots of chicken scratch stitching which I find very meditative and enjoy is mainstay of this piece. I have a feeling that it will find it's way into many of these pieces. I even managed to do about a half hour of it while floating in a kayak on a breathtakingly beautiful calm lake while being circled by a dragonfly... wish I had more moments like that. And now back to reality which for this week includes lots of laundry, to do lists and packing...July 07, 2008

I LOVE this piece! It works fabulously on so many layers -- both literally and figuratively. I'm also impressed that this didn't get wet; mine would have positively ended up in the lake!
Love the stiches and the sticker. also the colors. Yes, I too am impressed that you could sew whilst floating on the water. Steady hand, I guess.
