chairs?

Yep, chairs.... I have decided to document the chairs in my house for no apparent reason. Well maybe I was inspired by Elin's chair stamps from last year.
I have been covering the pages with acrylic gesso so that the markers don't show through to the other side. I really like the texture of the gessoed page. I think I'll continue doing that as long as I don't get too lazy.
kitchen stool...
my studio chair...
kitchen chair...
an armchair...
a kids rocker...

When I first saw them, I was reminded of Elin's stamps, too. I really like all your chairs and that you've done them all with different colors. Gives them personality, beyond their shape.. Your home must be very welcoming to have all those chairs available for guests!

I haven't checked your blog in a few days and Wow! Look at what you've done! I love your chair drawings and the portrayals that you did of leaves and trees. I envy your drawing skills--just great!

This is so inspiring - I've always wondered how to use markers (and disliked the show-through thing) and this inspires me to get out the gesso and felt pens do something similar around the house! Thanks for sharing.
