new work again!

believe it or not... I whipped out another small piece that was due tomorrow, thank goodness for FedEx. This is for SAQA's Meet the Artists 20th Anniversary Trunk Show. Every member was asked to create a small piece that will be matted and available to travel through out the anniversary celebration. Then a portion will be selected to become part of the collection at the International Quilt Study Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Very cool if you ask me...
So here is Питерское Окно/Piterskoie Okno/St. Pete Window 16. Yep, I'm still on my dryer sheet kick and loving it so expect more...

Good for you! I've been hearing about all kinds of little pieces being made for the collection. (I didn't get my act together to make one.) I'm very intrigued by your background.

This is a lovely piece, Natalya. Your work is so ethereal and feels connected to the past. Congratulations on all of your recent success.

I love this. You know how I love the hand stitches. The window is so beautiful.

Your pieces, and this one no exception are provocative.
i love the way the lines flow so the curtains are moving with a breeze perhaps...the hand stitching adds to the flow of course. And I am intrigued with the use of dryer sheets. I must try this too. I've been saving drier lint as well as I hear others use it. Makes me laugh but then...lets see what I can turn it into...so much inspiration here.

I am so happy you mentioned your dryer sheet kick! I've had a dryer sheet fetish of my own for quite some time. I use them to spontaneously piece with the sheet as the foundation. As I start to widen my style, I would love to start using them on the front. You've so inspired me!
