teaching...

I am going to teaching an online class next week! and I'm scared....

I had been thinking about whether I would enjoy teaching and be good at it for a while as I had been watching many friends and artists that I admire expand their teaching careers. This is to show you what happens when you put a thought out there in the universe... someone actually asked me to teach... I was a bit flabbergasted at first and then I thought - why the heck not give it a try!

So here it is my first online teaching venture through Quilters Keep Learning starting March 27th. The class is called Portals and here's the official description:
'In this class the “window” will be your portal to a small art quilt. Learn to use sheers, printed images and recycled materials while working on one small artwork per week based on Natalya’s Okna/Window series.'

Take a look if you'd like and if you do sign up for the class..please be gentle with me...

Oh this is wonderful news! I think you're going to love teaching -- and I also believe you'll be great at it.

And since I can never resist teaching . . .
The thing that I wished someone had told me when I first started is: You don't have to cram everything you know into the class -- and it's better for the students if you don't try.
