journal quilt round up...

Well, here it is the final journal quilt of 2007, 52/52.... It is here a few days early mainly because of lack of time. Between all the Christmas activities and New Years and Russian Christmas activities coming up, let's just say it's been crazy around here... I made it early so I can get on with family stuff and not worry about anything for a weekend.

To finish up the journal quilts of 2007 with a bang I used scraps from a project I did about a month or two ago (it was cotton sateen painted with Neocolor watersoluble crayons and stitched with variegated rayon threads), arranged them artfully, fused them down and hand stitched with a thick silk thread and tah dah!

Here's a look at all of 2007 journal quilts in miniature form... pretty funky I think...
I am very happy with the way this experiment has turned out. I am glad I stuck with it even if it was hard at times. I learned a lot about myself and my art and how I like to work at it. I am looking forward to continuing this journey of mine in 2008, stay tuned!

Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe New Years celebration and lots of joy, health, happiness and peace in the New Year!

Hi Natalya. I recently found your blog and saw that you are doing weekly journals. I also did weekly journal quilts for 2007 and am almost done with #52. I also see you are planning to continue next year. I have to give you credit. It is a huge commitment and although most of the time I enjoyed making them, I also found that sometimes I didn't feel like doing them. But I stuck with it and am glad. I have decided not to do them again next year. I've got too many other things I'd like to do, so maybe in 2009.
